A couple of people have been killed in the restive Taraba area of Nigeria which has suffered series of clashes between locals and armed men.
Gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, killed 3 policemen and 2 Vigilante at Bujum Kasuwan in LGA of Taraba state, on Thursday.
It was gathered that the policemen and the vigilantes were on an investigation duty in the area when the gunmen attacked and killed them.
The team was led by the Divisional crime officer ASP Kilobas Iliya in response to a distress call to the area which experienced communal conflicts in recent time.
The gunmen, after killing the policemen and the vigilantes made away with Ak47 rifle and one service pistol belonging to the police.
The police public relation officer Taraba state police command, ASP David Misal, confirmed the incident.
