Get a bulldozer to demolish Aso Villa – PFN spokesman chides El-Rufai

The National Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Bishop (Dr) Emma Gospel Isong has condemned the pulling down of a building said to be used as a secretariat by a faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kaduna.

Dr Isong, who spoke to DAILY POST on Thursday regretted the action of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

He said, “when Pastors were raising alarm over the demolition of Churches and Mosques by El-Rufai 10 years ago when he was the Federal Minister of Federal Capital territory Abuja, nobody condemned that action.

“We raised alarm on how he was pulling churches and mosques, nobody was talking; so, why will he not pull down the factional secretariat of APC which is his own party? Why will he not? He will continue to pull down houses. He should buy a big bulldozer so that he can use it to pull down Presidential Villa.”

On the endorsement trend going on across the country, Dr Isong said “I want Nigeria to know that nobody wins elections by endorsement. Endorsement by politicians are what I may call caricature figment of imagination of politicians that have no hope of winning elections.

“They gather area boys, associations and organizations offering them large sums of money to endorse them; endorsement is act of corruption perpetuated by Nigerian politicians, it has no place in the constitution, it is the manipulation of electoral process.”

“Governors are spending tax payers money they are supposed to use for development of their states especially Governors that have failed the people, they are using it for endorsement, it’s regrettable.

“I want Nigeria electorate to know that no amount of endorsement will make a failed politician to win an election because if it is 300 people that endorsed you, 500, 000 people need to vote for you to be declared winner, so voters should get their voters’ card ready to vote out politicians who have not performed”, he said.

He urged INEC to monitor the registration and voting of underage people which was a very constant factor in the Northern part of Nigeria.

“It’s child abuse to force those children out under the sun to thumb print and it is act of corruption, we are injecting corruption into these little children and when they grow up, they will become professional corrupt people and election riggers.

“INEC should employ more staff and should be cross-pollinating them, staff employed from Sokoto, Borno should be sent to Bayelsa and Rivers States and those employed here should be move up north.

“We have realized that there are a lots of compromise with the State and local governments on very crucial elections in this country”, he observed.
