The federal government and striking university teachers are now meeting in Abuja over the week long strike that has paralyzed academic activities in most public institutions across the country.
Labour and Employment Minister, Chris Ngige, is the leader of government team, while ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi is the union’s delegation.
The meeting comes two weeks after a similar one failed to reach a truce.
Ngige pleaded that ASUU embrace the spirit of give and take so as to make a headway.
However, ASUU expressed regrets over the prolonged strike but said it has a duty to ensure quality education for the students.
