In South Africa, a 7-year-old girl named Xivono Ndlovu was sexually abused and brutally murdered.
On Saturday, February 26, Xivovo was laid to rest at Petanenge village outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.
According to reports, the victim was abducted, r*ped, and murdered on February 19 in Dan Village by a 28-year-old man from Lusaka.
After confessing to the crime, the suspect was beaten and stoned to death by an enraged mob.
Meanwhile, Nkakareng Rakgoale, the Lmpopo MEC for Social Development, said it is extremely concerning that cases of gender-based violence and feminicide continue to occur in the province.
MEC Rakgoale made the remarks on Friday, February 25, during a visit to the victim’s family.
She urged the public and civil society to work alongside the government in combating the scourge.
