Young Man Hacks His Brother To Death Over Minor Misunderstanding In Kwara

A young man identified as Umar Bello reportedly hacked his blood brother, Abdullahi Bello to death during a fight in the early hours of Friday, May 27.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Dogonruwa village of Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state.

A source who is familiar with the incident stated that Umar killed his brother during the bloody encounter in which dangerous objects were reportedly used.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara state Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi said the suspect, Umar Bello has been taken into their custody.

He said:

“In the early hours of Friday, 27/05/2022, our divisional office in Kaima received a distress call that two brothers were engaged in a deadly fight, using dangerous objects like rod and cutlass and that one of them had become unconscious due to loss of too much blood.

“We arrived at the scene of the incident promptly. But the victim died before he could reach the hospital.”

“the culprit was later picked up and handed over to the police , who subsequently arrived at the scene of the incident for further investigations and possible prosecution.”

“The remains of the deceased have been evacuated from the scene of the incident.”
