The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety (So-Safe) Corps has told Islamic leaders in the state to compile the list of all the Muslim praying grounds ahead of Saturday’s Eid-il-Kabir celebration.
This is as the So-Safe corps said it has deployed its officers and men across the length and breadth of the State to ensure the safety of both lives and property of residents and visitors.
The Ogun government-owned security agency said it is prepared to “foil any act that can jeopardise the peace and love radiating among us as one family in the state.”
According to a statement by the State Commander of the Corps, Cdr Soji Ganzallo, it was gathered that all Zonal and Area Commanders of the corps have been instructed to detail officers as well as undercover officers and men to strategic places in continuation of its ‘Operation Secure Places of Worship’.
“It is no longer news that we are in an atmosphere where fear of the criminally-minded ones dominate every heart of our people and this requires vigilance in all ramifications,” Ganzallo said.
While disclosing that the operation kicks off on Tuesday, July 5, to Friday, July 15, 2022, Ganzallo asked Imams and Alfas to preach the essence of vigilance in the propagation of Islam.
“The Imams and Alfas are hereby advised to compile additional lists of their praying grounds for the agency; and to also preach the essence of vigilance in the propagation of the religion and this they should strictly adhere to.
“We say happy Eid-il-Kabir to Muslim officers, men and Marshals of the corps and the entire Muslims in our dearsState and Nigeria as a whole.
