Bandits kidnap two Catholic Priests in Kaduna

Bandits have abducted two Catholic priests, Reverend Father John Cheitnum, and Reverend Father Donatus Cleopas, in Kaduna state.

The two priests it was leant, were reportedly abducted on Friday evening in Jere Local Government Area of the state.

Kidnap of Catholic priests and clerics has become commonplace in Kaduna and other parts of the country. Only, recently, a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Silas, was also kidnapped by bandits from the parish rectory of Saint Charles Catholic Church, Zamina in Kauru LGA, of Kaduna State.

The latest abduction is yet to be confirmed by police in Kaduna, but the Chancellor of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, spoke about the abduction in a statement.

He said that the two priests were kidnapped by bandits at about 5 pm on Friday while they were on pastoral duty at the rectory of Christ The King Catholic Church, Yadin Garu.
