Facts About Ooni Of Ife New Wife, Mariam Anako (Pictures)

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, recently weds his second wife, Mariam Anako. On Tuesday, he revealed his new position as Olori in a grand event at the Palace in Ile-Ife.

Mariam comes from the Ebira people of Kogi State, Nigeria.

She is from one of Kogi State’s most prominent families. Her older sister Medinat Anako is a lawyer, businesswoman, and Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs and Kogi State Diaspora Focal Point Officer (DFPO) to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Her second older sibling, Mrs. Raliat Abdulrahman née Anako, is a special adviser to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Her ancestors originally hail from Kogi State (Igbira to be exact), but they ultimately made their home in Ilorin, Kwara State.

She was raised by former Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Mohammed Dikko Abubakar after her mother died while she was quite young. Abubakar was in office from 2012 to 2014.

She is a top executive with NestOil, an oil and gas company.
