New Super Eagles coach must qualify for 2026 World Cup – Okpala

Former Super Eagles captain, Sylvanus Okpala, has said the next Super Eagles coach must qualify the team for the 2026 World Cup.

The West Africans have failed to record a win in the qualifiers after four games.

The three-time African champions are second bottom in Group C with three points.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are still hunting for a new foreign coach to revive the fortunes of the team.

“Anybody who is appointed for the Super Eagles must qualify us to the World Cup,” Okpala was quoted by SCORENIGERIA.

“The new coach will come to qualify us to the World Cup, there will be no excuses.

“If such a coach doesn’t, then he has failed.”

The Super Eagles will host Zimbabwe when the qualifiers resume in March, 2025.
