GIVING BIRTH TO A CHILD DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO DESTROY THAT CHILD!

Some parents want unconditional respect from their children, yet they show them unconditional cruelty.

They believe that because they brought their children into this world, they have the right to control, intimidate, humiliate, and mistreat them however they please.

But who gave them that right?

Some parents use harsh words as weapons. They constantly remind their children of their mistakes, compare them with others, ridicule their weaknesses, and make them feel as though they will never be good enough.

When the children become emotionally withdrawn, lose confidence, or struggle to express themselves, these same parents may accuse them of being ungrateful, stubborn, or disrespectful.

**But have they ever stopped to ask themselves whether their own behaviour contributed to the problem?**

## PARENTHOOD IS A RESPONSIBILITY, NOT A LICENCE TO ABUSE.

Yes, parents deserve respect. Yes, children need discipline, guidance, boundaries, and correction. But discipline should teach, not destroy. Correction should guide, not humiliate. Authority should protect, not become a weapon for inflicting emotional pain.

A child is not your property simply because you gave birth to them. A child is a human being with feelings, dignity, dreams, and a developing sense of self-worth.

The wounds caused by childhood mistreatment do not always disappear when a child grows up. Some people carry those painful experiences into adulthood, affecting their confidence, relationships, and ability to trust others.

And the saddest part? Some parents never acknowledge the damage they have caused. Instead, they expect their children to forget everything simply because they are family.

**Being a parent does not automatically make you right. Being older does not make every decision you make correct. And giving birth does not give you permission to break another human being emotionally.**

If you want your children to respect you, give them reasons to respect you. If you want them to trust you, make your home a place where they feel safe enough to speak. If you want them to become responsible adults, teach them with wisdom rather than fear.

You can be firm without being cruel. You can discipline without humiliating. You can correct your children without making them feel worthless.

Remember this: **Your children may forget some of the things you bought for them, but they may never forget how you made them feel when they needed your love the most.**
