Buhari Approves N1.3bn For NTA, NAN, FRCN To Replace Obsolete Equipments

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N1.3billion for the replacement of some obsolete equipment at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The approval was granted during the FEC meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Briefing State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting, the minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, said out of the amount, N283million was approved for NTA for the purchase of cameras, microphones and television packs.

He said the council has also approved N158.7million for NAN to purchase 15 operational vehicles from the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) limited.

For the FRCN, the minister said N561.4million has been approved for the procurement of 12 transmitters.
He said the radio station was also granted an approval for the purchase of three Outside Broadcasting Vans (OB vans) at N311.6million.
