AFCON 2021: Oliseh, Eguavoen react to Senegal’s victory over Egypt

Former Nigerian internationals, Sunday Oliseh and Austin Eguavoen have commended Senegal for beating Egypt to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

Senegal defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties on Sunday to lift the 2021 AFCON.

The AFCON final tie ended in a goalless draw after 120 minutes.

However, Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty to give Senegal their first-ever AFCON trophy.

Reacting, Oliseh, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, expressed his excitement at Mane and the ‘superb’ Senegal.

He tweeted, “Sadio Mané leads “Superb” Senegal to win Arguably, the most qualitative AFCON in the past 20 years in terms of Tactics, passion, and surprises.

“African football has come of age !! I am excited…”

On his part, Eguavoen tweeted: “Congratulations, @FootballSenegal.”
