Being a Muslim Has Its Price – Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of Islam, stating that “being a Muslim has its price”.

In a message to mark the new Islamic calendar, the monarch stressed that Muslims must be committed to the will of God and believe in the oneness of God, without associating partners with Him.

Oba Akanbi noted that trusting in one God is a shared value between Islam and Yoruba tradition, and encouraged Muslims to honor God without reservation. He warned that there is no shortcut to the ways of God and that true believers will not worship deities or idols.

The Oluwo of Iwoland, who described himself as an unrepentant promoter of Olodumare (the Yoruba supreme being), vowed to continue honoring God and promoting the oneness of God, starting from Iwo. He urged all Muslims to join him in this campaign, promising that those who honor God unadulterated will be honored distinctively.

In his words, “Anyone who thinks anything is possible without God is not a Muslim.”
