Peter Obi Explains His Only Disagreement With Kenneth Okonkwo

In a letter he shared on social media, Okonkwo put the majority of the blame on Peter Obi’s handling of the crisis rocking the party.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has explained the disagreement between him and Kenneth Okonkwo.

Recall that Okonkwo recently announced his exit from the party and the Obidient Movement.

Okonkwo, who was the spokesperson for the Labour Party presidential campaign in the 2023 general election, announced he was dumping the party and the Obidient movement because of Peter Obi’s handling of the crisis rocking the party.

Peter Obi’s Spokesman, Yunusa Tanko, told DAILY POST on Monday that he had reached out to the former Anambra State Governor for his reaction to Okonkwo’s decision.

He said Obi told him that Okonkwo cannot be referred to as a mole in the Obidient family but a beloved brother.

“Following the announcement of the former Spokesperson of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organization in the 2023 election, Kenneth Okonkwo that he was leaving both the Labour Party and the Obidients, I as Chief Spokesman of the Campaign contacted our principal Obi for his reaction.

“He told me he was sad by the development because he sees Okonkwo as a junior brother who played his role diligently during our struggle.

“Obi told me succinctly that Okonkwo cannot be called a mole in our family with the services he rendered and still renders in our struggle to create a new Nigeria that is possible.

“When I asked Obi if I could make his views on Okonkwo public he said yes because the public needs to know that there is no personal misunderstanding between us and Okonkwo but only a disagreement based on style and approach to problems.”
