A young South African woman identified as Manapo Mokoena has been arrested for beating up her child.
A witness who shared the photos on Facebook said the incident happened this week in Bethlehem, in the Free State province of South Africa.
According to the woman, the child lost her money amounting to R37.
“That’s why I slapped her with my hand and my intention was to kill her with my hand,” she said.
Government social workers arrived and took the child to a hospital while the woman was taken away by police officers.
The stepfather of the child confirmed that it wasn’t the first time the woman beat her child in this manner.
