The three-time Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions are currently fourth in their World Cup qualifying group and face a challenging path to secure the sole ticket available.

With competition stiff and points crucial, Eric Chelle’s men must take maximum points from their remaining fixtures to stay in contention.

Speaking with Brila FM, the Chippa United shot-stopper acknowledged the team’s current struggles but remained optimistic about their prospects.

“It is football. Just because we are Nigeria doesn’t mean we’re guaranteed to win every game,” Nwabali said. “You can see we still have a lot of chances to qualify, despite where we are on the table.”Travel packages

He added that the team is focused on taking each game as it comes.

“We’re going to push in our next game, take it one game at a time, and we’ll see how our next four games go,” he concluded.

Nigeria will need a strong finish to secure qualification and return to the World Cup stage after missing out in 2022.
