Clad in the majestic Benin Royal Regalia, a powerful ensemble of coral beads, ivory ornaments, and golden bangles known as Egba, HRM Oba Akenzua II is seen here performing the sacred Emóbo Festival.
The Emóbo ceremony, held to spiritually cleanse the kingdom and drive away malevolent forces, remains one of the most important ritual rites in Benin’s traditional calendar.
