Barrister Jacob Adebiyi Majekodunmi was born on 1 October 1905, the first son of Chief David Adekunle Majekodunmi and Princess Adedamola.

He became the first lawyer in the family to be trained abroad, returning to Nigeria to a warm reception. A welcome ceremony was held in his honour on 11 March 1934 at the Holy Trinity CMS Church, Esekuta, Ikereku, Abeokuta.

His younger brother, Dr. Charles Olusola Afolabi Majekodunmi, would later follow in similar footsteps, becoming the first medical doctor in the family trained overseas.

Adebiyi Majekodunmi built a distinguished legal career in Lagos and Ibadan, and at one time served as Chief Magistrate in Osogbo. He also held an executive role as director and legal adviser at A.G. Leventis, where he worked closely with his father’s old friend and business partner.
