The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has expressed displeasure with the way Nigerians worship their ancestors.

He shared a photo of a shrine where some Nigerians worshipped their ancestors and noted how dirty it looked.

The monarch questioned whether Nigerian forefathers were really dirty or belonged in the dustbin.

He wrote, “Can anyone be proud to say, This is where and how I honor my Father’s and Forefathers….are our forefathers really dirty or do they belong to the dustbin ???? I believe there are better ways to remember our ancestors like ododo eye( Beautiful flowers) oorun didun(perfumes) and prayers for them.
