A 14-year-old boy was apprehended after he was discovered cooking breakfast inside a private residence on Ezakheni Road, Hazelmere, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, following an alleged break-in.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, when the teenager reportedly gained access to the property by removing the gate and forcing open a door. According to the homeowner, several items, including clothing and food, were stolen during the intrusion.
The situation took an unusual turn when the homeowner returned and found the boy inside the house frying eggs. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was subsequently contacted, and officers who responded to the scene confirmed that the house had been ransacked.
Residents in the area informed RUSA officials that the teenager was allegedly known for previous housebreaking incidents within the community.
The suspect was later handed over to the South African Police Service for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
