Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has promised to rally his friends and associates to raise at least N500million for commemorative landmark projects at his alma mater, Bishop Phillips Academy in Ibadan.
Makinde made the promise on Saturday at the 40th anniversary of the 1985 Set’s exit from the school.
The governor, who took to his verified Facebook page on Sunday to disclose the development, also revealed that a 7-man committee has been constituted by the 1985 Set of ex-students to supervise and coordinate the projects.
Makinded wrote: “Yesterday, it was lovely to join my former classmates from the 1985 set to mark 40 years after we finished from Bishop Phillips Academy, Ibadan. We reminisced about the good times during our stay in school. To commemorate our 40th anniversary, I promised to rally my friends and associates to raise at least N500 million for landmark projects at our alma mater.
“We agreed to set up a 7-man committee made up of Foluso Olatunji, Sade Okediji, Kolawole Olalekan, Peluola Ladeji, Samson Olatunji, Omolara Ayinla and Seye Popoola, to coordinate and supervise the planned projects in the school.”
