Dr Ahmed Audi retires as NSCDC CG, marks end of tenure

After years of dedicated service, Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), officially retired on Friday. His departure comes as he reached the mandatory retirement age and completed his tenure, marking the end of a notable chapter in Nigeria’s security landscape.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Audi assumed office on March 1, 2021 following his appointment by late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Audi, celebrated his last day in office while commemorating the 2026 World Civil Defence Day on Friday at the NSCDC Headquarters, Abuja.

The Federal Government is yet to announce Audi’s successor.

NAN also reports that, Audi, who hails from Nasarawa, was born on Sept. 30, 1967, holds a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University Keffi and a Master’s in Public Business Administration from University of Calabar and is also a member of the National Institute (mni).
