The Ekiti State Amotekun Communication Officer, Adeleye Adewale, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
According to reports lodged by some indigenes of Okemesi-Ekiti at the Amotekun office in the town, a group of Hausa and Fulani men were seen alighting from a vehicle at a motor park in front of African Church along Itaawure Road.
The suspects were identified as Abdulahi Makana, 28; Shuaba Ibrahim, 25; Adamu Muhammed, 25; Shlibu Umar, 31, and Aruna Yahaya, 28.
Acting on a tip-off, Amotekun operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene, where the suspects were apprehended.
Items recovered from them included two locally made guns, one axe, one dagger, two dogs, five mobile phones and assorted charms.
During interrogation, the suspects, led by one Suleiman, claimed to be farmers from Kaduna and Jigawa states.
However, they reportedly failed to provide credible evidence to substantiate their claims.
The suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have been handed over to the Ekiti West Police Command for further investigation and necessary action.
