The daughter of veteran Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, Damilola, has received the endorsement of the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, for the Lagos State House of Assembly.
It was reports that Damilola made this known in a video via Snapchat, while presenting branded caps to Sego during a meeting believed to be linked to her political consultation ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
In his speech, Sego said Damilola can deliver on the job and urged party members and supporters to back her ambition.
The NURTW said, “When it is primary election, please come out en masse and vote for Dami, Omo Anifowose. She is the only one who can do it. The progress of our Surulere is our collective responsibility. It is our time.”
Recall that Damilola, Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tourism, recently declared her ambition to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the APC.
In an Instagram post, Damilola said her professional experience prepared her for public service and representation.
Damilola also described herself as part of a new generation of leaders committed to development and youth inclusion.
She wrote, “I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead. With my background, I am fully prepared and ready to fight for what truly matters. I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House.
“As a young woman, I believe this is exactly what my people need right now, and that is why I decided to step forward.”
