PHOTOS: Oyo State Govt. 🇳🇬 Takes Delivery of Two ₦7.76bn Surveillance Aircraft to Boost Security
The Oyo State Government has officially taken delivery of two Diamond DA42 MNG Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft at Ibadan Airport, marking a significant investment in the state’s security infrastructure.
Valued at a combined ₦7.763 billion, the aircraft are equipped with advanced aerial surveillance technology capable of supporting intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and real-time monitoring across vast areas.
According to Governor Seyi Makinde, the aircraft will strengthen security operations, particularly along Oyo State’s borders with Kwara State and the Republic of Benin, helping security agencies combat kidnapping, banditry, and other cross-border crimes through improved aerial intelligence.
The acquisition reflects Oyo State’s continued investment in technology-driven security, enhancing the ability of law enforcement agencies to monitor remote areas, respond more quickly to threats, and improve the safety of residents.
