Greed Can Cause Deep Hatred Among Siblings

Published

on

Greed can destroy the love, trust, and unity that should exist among brothers and sisters. When people become more concerned about money, property, inheritance, or material possessions than their family relationships, resentment and hatred can grow.

The Bible warns us about the danger of greed:

“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
— Luke 12:15

A family disagreement over wealth can become a lifelong conflict if people refuse to forgive, compromise, or seek peace. No house, land, money, or inheritance is worth losing a brother or sister.

The Bible also teaches:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
— Psalm 133:1

And:

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.”
— Ephesians 4:31

Instead of allowing greed to divide the family, choose love, fairness, forgiveness, and peace. Material possessions can be replaced, but a broken family relationship can leave deep wounds for many years.

Remember: What you gain materially is meaningless if you lose the people you should love. Choose family over greed, peace over possessions, and love over hatred.
