RAISE YOUR CHILDREN WELL, SO STRANGERS WON’T RAISE THEM FOR YOU

Children do not learn only from what we tell them; they learn from what they see, hear, and experience every day. As parents, guardians, and families, we have a responsibility to give our children strong values, good discipline, godly instruction, and the right example.

If parents do not take time to teach, guide, correct, and encourage their children, the world will gladly step in and fill that gap. Friends, social media, celebrities, strangers, and other influences can shape a child’s beliefs and behaviour—sometimes in ways that conflict with the values taught at home.

The Bible gives parents a clear responsibility:

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

Raising children well does not mean raising perfect children. It means giving them a solid foundation and teaching them the difference between right and wrong. It means correcting them with love, listening to them, spending time with them, and showing them by our own lives what honesty, respect, responsibility, humility, and faith look like.

The Bible also says:

“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
— Ephesians 6:4 (KJV)

Parents should not leave the spiritual and moral education of their children entirely to schools, churches, friends, or society. Those influences may help, but the home remains one of the most powerful places where a child’s character is formed.

Moses instructed God’s people:

“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way…”
— Deuteronomy 6:7 (KJV)

Teach them when they are young. Talk to them. Correct them when they are wrong. Encourage them when they are discouraged. Teach them to respect others. Teach them to think before they follow the crowd. Most importantly, give them an example worth following.

Children who receive love, guidance, discipline, and godly instruction at home are better prepared to recognize wrong influences when they encounter them outside the home.

Do not wait until strangers have more influence over your children than you do. Be present. Be intentional. Be their first teacher, their guide, and their example.

As the Bible reminds us:

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother.”
— Proverbs 1:8 (KJV)

Raise them with love.
Teach them with wisdom.
Correct them with patience.
Guide them with truth.
And give them a foundation strong enough to withstand the wrong influences of the world.

RAISE YOUR CHILDREN WELL, SO STRANGERS WON’T RAISE THEM FOR YOU.

The values you teach them today can help shape the choices they make tomorrow.
