GIVING BIRTH DOES NOT MAKE YOU A GOOD MOTHER — YOUR CHARACTER DOES!

Published

on

You carried a child in your womb for nine months. You endured the pain of childbirth, breastfed the baby, carried the child on your back, and sacrificed many things to raise them.

But let me ask you a question that may offend some people:

**WHAT IS THE VALUE OF CARRYING A CHILD IN YOUR WOMB IF YOU END UP BREAKING THAT CHILD’S HEART WITH YOUR OWN HANDS?**

Some mothers believe that because they gave birth, their children must tolerate every form of mistreatment, humiliation, emotional abuse, and cruelty.

They believe that saying *“I suffered to bring you into this world”* gives them the right to do whatever they want to their children.

But the truth is painful: **Your sacrifice in raising a child does not give you permission to destroy that child’s peace of mind.**

A mother can provide food and clothing yet starve her children of affection.

A mother can pay school fees yet destroy her children’s confidence with insulting words.

A mother can live under the same roof with her children yet make them feel unwanted, unloved, and afraid.

And the most heartbreaking part? Some children grow up believing they must accept every kind of mistreatment simply because the person hurting them is their mother.

Let us be honest. Motherhood is not just about giving birth. It is about nurturing, protecting, correcting with wisdom, showing compassion, and accepting responsibility when you are wrong.

**YOUR CHILDREN NEED MORE THAN THE STORY OF HOW YOU GAVE BIRTH TO THEM. THEY NEED TO EXPERIENCE YOUR LOVE THROUGH YOUR ACTIONS.**

No mother is perfect. Every parent makes mistakes. But a good mother must be willing to learn, apologise, and change when her behaviour hurts her children.

Remember this: **A womb can carry a child for nine months, but only love, care, and responsible parenting can help that child feel safe and valued.**

**LET’S SETTLE THIS DEBATE!**

Do you agree that giving birth alone does not automatically make a woman a good mother?

Or do you believe that every mother deserves unquestionable respect, regardless of how she treats her children?

**Drop your opinion in the comments. This is a conversation many families need to have!**
