Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu once asked him if he was interested in a pipeline contract.
Dokubo, however, stated that he told Tinubu he wasn’t interested.
The ex-Ijaw militant made this known on Tuesday while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show program.
Dokubo also added that he offered to assist those involved in the pipeline contract in any way he could to help the government succeed.
He said: “I’ve met President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. I met him both on and off camera. He asked me, ‘Are you interested in a pipeline?’ He will be listening now. I told him I’m not interested in a pipeline contract. He is alive. I told him I am not interested. But I can assist those who are doing the pipeline contract in any way I can for your government to succeed.
“But I’m not interested. So I never said that it was personal gain I was looking for. I clearly stated in all my broadcasts that my needs are very small. My needs are very small.”
