I face no fear and I have none – Dele Farotimi

Dele Farotimi, a human rights advocate, has expressed resilience in the face of his ongoing legal battles over alleged defamation.

Farotimi, who was released from a correctional facility in Ekiti State on December 24 after meeting his bail conditions, is facing a 14-count charge, including allegations of criminal defamation. The activist pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The allegations stem from claims that Farotimi “criminally defamed” Afe Babalola, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in his book titled Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.

In a statement shared on his X page on Thursday, Farotimi wrote in cryptic but defiant terms. See below…

Farotimi is currently facing trial in two separate courts on charges related to the alleged defamation of Babalola.

On December 9, the Federal High Court in Ekiti granted him bail set at ₦50 million with one surety, following a 12-count charge of cybercrime filed by the Inspector-General of Police.

Despite the legal challenges, Farotimi has maintained his stance as a vocal critic of perceived injustices, insisting that he remains unshaken by the ongoing trials.
