The International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has declared at least 14 Nigerians wanted for alleged involvement in crimes such as human and drug trafficking, robbery, cheating, and forgery.
Red Notices published on the Interpol website revealed that these individuals are sought by various countries for their alleged roles in criminal activities.
The individuals named in the notices include:
Felix Omoregie – Wanted by Belgian authorities for leading a criminal organisation involved in the exploitation of minors for prostitution.
Jessica Edosomwan – Sought by French authorities for trafficking multiple victims in an organised operation and concealing proceeds of crime.
Uche Egbue – Wanted in Argentina for drug trafficking.
Jude Uzoma – Pursued by Brazilian authorities for drug trafficking.
Chinedu Ezeunara – Sought in Uruguay for alleged drug trafficking.
Benedict Okoro – Wanted in Nicaragua for alleged organised crime.
Ikechukwu Obidiozor, Akachi Vitus, and Alachi Stanley – Sought by Angolan authorities for alleged kidnapping, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.
Mary Eze – Wanted in Denmark for alleged human trafficking.
Bouhari Salif – Sought in China for alleged drug smuggling.
Timloh Nkem – Wanted in Canada for alleged sexual assault and failure to comply with recognisance conditions.
Austine Costa – Sought by Indian authorities for alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and possession of forged documents.
Okromi Festus – Also wanted in India for alleged conspiracy and cheating.
Belgium’s notice for Omoregie details charges including sexual exploitation of minors and leadership of a criminal organisation. Similarly, France accuses Edosomwan of orchestrating human trafficking operations while concealing illicit gains.
Drug trafficking accusations dominate the cases against Egbue, Uzoma, and Ezeunara, while Okoro faces allegations of organised crime in Nicaragua.
Angola’s pursuit of Obidiozor, Vitus, and Stanley relates to violent crimes, including kidnapping and robbery, while Denmark and China target Eze and Salif, respectively, for trafficking offenses.
In India, Costa and Festus are accused of forgery and conspiracy, while Canada’s notice for Nkem stems from charges of sexual assault.
Interpol clarified that Red Notices are not international arrest warrants but rather requests for law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest suspects pending extradition or similar legal actions.
“A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action,” Interpol stated. “Member countries apply their laws in deciding whether to arrest a person.”
The organisation urged anyone with information about the wanted individuals to report to their local police authorities.
