United States President Donald Trump has repeated his claim that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 “would never have happened” if he was president.
Trump said this while speaking to reporters during a gaggle on Air Force One on Sunday evening.
According to him, hundreds of people died in cities in Ukraine in the past one week.
Recall that Joe Biden was US President when Russian President, Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale military operation in Ukraine back in February, 2022.
When asked during the gaggle if he would consider lifting the intel pause on Ukraine, Trump said, “We want to do anything we can to get Ukraine to be serious about getting something done.
“I will think right now they haven’t, but I think they will be, and I think it’s going to become evident over the next two or three days.
“This week, hundreds of people died in cities in Ukraine, and we got to get it stopped. It would have never happened if I was president.”
This is coming after Trump recently paused all military aid to Ukraine amid the country’s ongoing war with Russia.
