Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has shared her thoughts on how society now views single mothers.
It was reports that in a video, the mother of two said the attitude has changed as more men are openly seeking serious relationships with women who already have children.
The actress spoke on December 20, 2025, while addressing the growing confidence among single mothers and how they are now better accepted in relationships and marriage.
She explained that single motherhood is no longer seen as something to be ashamed of, noting that many women in this situation are thriving in their careers and raising successful children.
According to her, the old belief that single mothers should be sidelined is fading fast.
Iyabo Ojo said many men now prefer single mothers because they are more mature and understand life better.
She added that these men are no longer interested in casual relationships but often make it clear that they want commitment and marriage.
She also encouraged women who have gone through broken relationships not to lose hope, stating that the end of one relationship does not mean the end of love or marriage opportunities.
The actress described herself as the President General of the Single Mothers Association and urged single mothers to carry themselves with confidence, strength, and self-respect.
She advised them not to feel embarrassed about their status, stressing that their value is not reduced because they have children.
Iyabo Ojo concluded by reminding women that being left by a partner does not make them unwanted, as there will always be someone ready to love and accept them fully.
She said: “Gone are the days when being a single mother was a stigma. Single mothers’ children are doing great things in life. Men are chasing single mothers. They are even begging us that they don’t want us to be a side chick. They want us to marry them because we have experience. If a man leaves you, another man will accept you. I am The President General of the Single Mothers Association.”
