Oyedepo Recounts Encounter With 419 In Church

Founder of the Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has admitted that fraudsters are prevalent in the church and everywhere.

It was reports that Oyedepo made this known while recounting an encounter with an alleged fraudster.

While delivering a sermon during the mid-week service, Oyedepo said a fraudster who impersonated and attempted to extort money from the victims was later exposed.

Oyedepo stated that his images are being used for fraudulent activities and urged his members to walk in truth to avoid being trapped.

He said, “We had an experience some time back when someone was claiming to be me and that I was asking for something.

“My assistant called and the person said ‘can I speak to Bishop Oyedepo’? My assistant said yes, you can talk to him.

“He (victim) could not wait to make findings and said the Lord curse you.

“That is the world we live in today. 419 plenty in church, plenty in market, school and everywhere.

“Walk in the truth and you will never be trapped.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, the founder of the Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, recently announced the commencement of Sunday services in Abuja as part of his ministry’s new direction.

In a move that has drawn reactions, he also confirmed that offerings will not be collected during the services, following a specific instruction from God.

In the viral video online, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo explained that his ministry’s core mission is centered on discipleship and the spiritual growth of individuals, with a primary focus on following Jesus Christ, rather than traditional church financial practices.

Pastor Oyedepo clarified that while there is no issue with offerings in other ministries, God had specifically instructed him not to collect offerings for this particular assignment.
