Children need more than food, clothing, and education. They need love, attention, encouragement, correction, and emotional security. A child who constantly receives insults, rejection, humiliation, or hatred may grow up carrying emotional wounds that can affect their confidence and relationships.
As parents, discipline is important, but discipline should not become cruelty. Correct your children when they are wrong, but let them know that they are still loved. Speak words that guide them rather than words that destroy their self-worth.
The Bible teaches:
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” — Ephesians 6:4
It also says:
“Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” — Colossians 3:21
And:
“Love is patient, love is kind.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4
Parents, your children may forget some of the things you bought for them, but they may remember how you made them feel. Give them a home where they can experience love, guidance, respect, and forgiveness.
Correct them when necessary. Set boundaries when necessary. But never make hatred the language of parenting.
Your children need love, not hatred.
They need guidance, not humiliation.
They need correction, not constant condemnation.
They need parents who build them up, not parents who break them down.
“Children are a heritage from the Lord.” — Psalm 127:3
Love your children. Teach them. Correct them with wisdom. Encourage them. Let them grow knowing that home is a place where they are loved.
