Marriage is more than one person providing money while the other simply receives. A husband may have financial responsibilities, but he also needs love, encouragement, respect, understanding, prayer, and emotional support from his wife.
A wife should not measure her husband’s value only by how much money he brings home. There will be seasons when finances are difficult, but a loving and supportive wife can become a source of strength during those times.
The Bible says:
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9
Marriage is meant to be a partnership. When one partner is struggling, the other should not simply criticize or abandon them, but offer support and encouragement.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Wives, appreciate your husbands for more than what they provide financially. Listen to them. Encourage them. Respect them. Stand beside them when life becomes difficult. Celebrate their efforts, even when the results are not yet what you both desire.
At the same time, husbands should also remember that their wives are not servants or financial dependents without feelings. Marriage requires mutual love, sacrifice, respect, and support.
“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” — Ephesians 5:21
A strong marriage is not built on money alone. It is built on love, trust, respect, communication, faithfulness, sacrifice, and genuine support for one another.
“Above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” — Colossians 3:14
Money can pay bills, but love, understanding, and mutual support help build a home.
