Police arraign suspended Ogun monarch for assaulting 73-yr-old chief (photos)

The Ogun State Police Command today February 4, arraigned the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, for ass@ulting a 73-year-old man, Elder Abraham Areola.

The suspended monarch was arraigned on three counts charges of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

According to the Force Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspended Oba was granted bail after pleading not guilty to offences. It was gathered that he was granted bail on liberal terms of N5m with two sureties in the like sum.

The case has been adjourned to March 6 for a hearing.

The traditional ruler was on Monday suspended by the Ogun State government in collaboration with Egba Traditional Council.

Oba Ogunjobi, a former police officer, was captured in a viral video physically ass@ulting the man who wass said to be one of his chiefs, alongside his accomplices whose faces were also not captured in the video.
