Hilda Baci to cook 250 bags of rice for world’s biggest jollof pot feat

Published

on

Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has revealed that she will use 250 bags of rice in her bid to cook what would become the world’s biggest pot of jollof rice.

Baci, who set the global record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, shared the details in a video uploaded on Instagram on Monday, while analysing the scale of the project, which has generated widespread curiosity.

She explained that the giant pot designed for the feat has a volume of 22,619 litres, adding that her target was to fill it up to 80 per cent.

“My goal is to fill this pot up by at least 75 to 80 per cent.

“That means I will need about 5,278 kilogrammes of raw basmati rice to achieve the yield,” she said.

According to her, the calculation translates to 264 bags of rice, but she had made a strategic adjustment.

“I am making the executive decision to do 250 bags,” Baci stated.

On condiments, she disclosed that the cooking would require 1,583 kilogrammes of tomato paste.

“For one kg of rice, you would need between 0.20 to 0.35, but because it’s Nigerian jollof, I’m going to use 0.30.

“That means I will need 1,583 kilogrammes of Gino tomato paste,” she said.

Baci added that the tomato base would be shared evenly across tomato paste, pepper chicken paste and jollof paste to make the “most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted.”

THE EVILDOERS IN OUR SOCIETY

Published

on

Evil is becoming increasingly visible in our society—corruption, violence, oppression, dishonesty, greed, injustice, and wickedness. Some people hurt others for personal gain, while others use their positions to oppress the weak and protect wrongdoing.

But God sees everything.

📖 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.”
— Psalm 37:1 (KJV)

Those who commit evil should not think they will escape God’s judgment. Human beings may hide their actions from people, but nothing is hidden from God.

📖 “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”
— Luke 12:2 (KJV)

The Bible also warns those who use power to make unjust decisions:

📖 “Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and write grievousness which they have prescribed.”
— Isaiah 10:1 (KJV)

A society cannot experience lasting peace when evil is tolerated, injustice is rewarded, and the innocent are ignored.

📖 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
— Proverbs 14:34 (KJV)

Therefore, let us not repay evil with evil. Let us stand for truth, defend the innocent, seek justice, and encourage repentance.

📖 “Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”
— Psalm 34:14 (KJV)

And finally:

📖 “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:21 (KJV)

LET US REJECT EVIL AND CHOOSE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

A better society begins with people who are willing to do what is right—even when nobody is watching.

“Your Hands Are Full of Innocent Blood”

Published

on

The Bible speaks strongly against the shedding of innocent blood. When human beings deliberately harm, oppress, or destroy the lives of others, God does not ignore it. He sees every act of injustice, every life taken wrongfully, and every innocent person who suffers.

Isaiah 1:15 (KJV) says:

“And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.”

This is a serious warning. We cannot live in wickedness and expect God to overlook our actions simply because we pray or appear religious. God desires genuine repentance, righteousness, mercy, and justice.

Proverbs 6:16–17 (KJV) declares:

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.”

Hands that shed innocent blood are an abomination before God. Human life is precious because every person is created by God.

Genesis 9:6 (KJV) reminds us:

“Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”

The message is clear: Do not become an instrument of violence, injustice, or destruction. Do not allow anger, hatred, greed, revenge, political ambition, tribal hatred, or personal conflict to make you responsible for the suffering of innocent people.

God also calls those who have done wrong to repent. Ezekiel 18:21 (KJV) says:

“But if the wicked will turn away from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”

Therefore, if your hands have been stained by wrongdoing, do not harden your heart. Turn away from evil. Seek forgiveness. Make peace where possible. Restore what you have destroyed and choose righteousness.

Micah 6:8 (KJV) says:

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Let our hands be known for helping rather than hurting, protecting rather than destroying, and showing mercy rather than shedding innocent blood.

A warning to every heart:
The blood of the innocent may be hidden from people, but it is never hidden from God. What is concealed from human eyes is fully known by the Almighty.

“Your hands are full of innocent blood” is not merely an accusation—it is a call to repentance. Turn from violence. Turn from hatred. Turn from injustice. Choose life, mercy, righteousness, and peace.

A BURNING LAMP CAN SEE THE FAULTS OF ANOTHER, BUT CANNOT SEE ITS OWN

Published

on

A burning lamp can shine brightly and reveal what is hidden in the darkness, yet it cannot see the darkness within itself. In the same way, a person may be very quick to identify the faults, mistakes, and weaknesses of others while failing to examine his or her own life.

The Bible warns us against such hypocrisy:

“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
— Matthew 7:3 (KJV)

Before we condemn another person, we should first examine ourselves. It is easy to point fingers at someone else’s wrongdoing, but true wisdom begins with self-examination.

Jesus continued:

“Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”
— Matthew 7:5 (KJV)

A lamp is useful because it gives light to others, but we must remember that we also need God’s light to search our own hearts.

The Psalmist prayed:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.”
— Psalm 139:23 (KJV)

Let us therefore not become people who are experts at exposing the faults of others while ignoring our own shortcomings. Before correcting another person, let us humbly ask God to correct us first.

“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:31 (KJV)

The lesson is simple: A lamp may illuminate another person’s path, but it also needs to be examined. Let your light shine, but never become blind to your own faults. Self-examination, humility, and repentance are signs of true wisdom.
