Nigerian social commentator Isaac Fayose has sparked a debate over the rising cost of living and the economic realities facing ordinary Nigerians, particularly in the Southwest.

A disturbing discovery has raised serious questions about product quality and consumer safety after multiple threads of different colours were reportedly found inside a sealed syrup bottle bearing a NAFDAC registration number.

How could foreign-looking materials be present inside a sealed medicinal product? Does having a NAFDAC number automatically guarantee that every product on the market is safe? And what should consumers do when they discover something suspicious in a medicine or syrup?

This incident highlights the importance of proper product inspection, quality control, regulatory oversight and consumer vigilance in Nigeria.

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: If you encounter a syrup containing unusual threads, particles or other foreign materials, do not consume it. Keep the bottle, packaging, batch number, expiry date and receipt, if available, and report the incident to NAFDAC for investigation. The presence of a NAFDAC number alone does not establish that the specific bottle is genuine or that its contents are safe.

🎥 WATCH THE VIDEO to see the reported discovery and join the conversation about medicine safety and consumer protection in Nigeria.

💬 QUESTION OF THE DAY: Have you ever encountered a suspicious product bearing a NAFDAC number? What do you think should be done to protect Nigerian consumers?
