PDP remains most united party in Nigeria – Jonah Jang

Published

on

Former Plateau State governor, Senator Jonah Jang, has said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains one of the most united political parties in Nigeria since it was formed in 1998.

Speaking at a caucus meeting of the Plateau North Senatorial District of the PDP, Jang said the party has continued to stand strong at the national level without any form of division threatening its existence.

“Since 1998, the PDP has remained one of the most united political parties in Nigeria. No faction has been able to shake its foundation,” Jang said.

He noted that although some members had left the party over time, the PDP is still rooted in the dedication and sacrifices of its genuine founding fathers.

“It makes no sense to me when I hear founding members of PDP defecting to another party. How can a founding father abandon his own house? A true and genuine founding father will not abandon his house, no matter the level of provocation,” he said.

At the meeting, party stakeholders in the senatorial district endorsed Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for a second term in office. His deputy, Josephine Piyo, and the state PDP chairman, Chris Hassan, were also given unanimous support for another term.

Prepare To Return To Lagos In 2027 – Dalung Sends Warning To Tinubu

Published

on

Former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has expressed confidence that the opposition coalition under the umbrella of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

He warned Tinubu that he may be forced to return to Lagos after just one term in office.

Dalung, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), gave the warning in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune on Saturday.

According to him, the failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet Nigerians’ expectations has opened the door for new political forces like the ADC.

“Tinubu may come to the conclusion that he should be preparing to return to Lagos by May 29, 2027,” Dalung said.

He asserted that Nigerians are tired of the worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance, adding that this will lead to a demand a new political direction.

Dalung dismissed President Tinubu’s earlier description of the ADC as a camp for internally displaced politicians, saying the party is fast emerging as one of the strongest platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The ADC is not just another minor opposition party. We are building a movement that will shock even the most doubtful Nigerians,” he said.

Although he did not unveil specific strategies, the former minister explained that the ADC is in talks with stakeholders across the country and will present credible candidates who can challenge the current system.

Rivers LGA Election: APC Wins 20 Chairmanship Seats, PDP Wins 3

Published

on

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the chairmanship seats in 20 LGAs in the Rivers state council elections.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in three LGAs.

Michael Ekpai Odey, chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), announced the results on Sunday.

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of the state, lost his Opobo-Nkoro LGA to the APC.

Fubara and his supporters were absent on Saturday during the elections.

RSIEC conducted the polls under the supervision of Ibok-Ete Ibas, the sole administrator of the state.

After exercising his franchise, Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), said the “coast is clear” for the termination of the emergency rule in Rivers state.

The former Rivers governor said the exercise was largely peaceful while he countered reports of voter apathy.

Wike also dismissed concerns over the non-compulsory usage of the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) in the election.

President Bola Tinubu had declared a state of emergency in Rivers earlier this year following heightened political crisis and instability in the state.

He also suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu; and all members of the Rivers assembly for six months.

In June, Wike, Fubara and members of the state assembly attended a peace meeting hosted by Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

FLAME & FURY Shocking moment Texas election candidate Valentina Gomez BURNS Quran with a flamethrower as she vows to ‘end Islam’

Gomez has previously filmed herself torching two LGBTQ books

THIS is the shocking moment a Republican Texas election candidate shared footage of herself torching the Quran with a flamethrower in a vile Islamophobic campaign ad.

In the video, Valentina Gomez claims her goal is to “end Islam” in Texas – despite Muslims making up just one per cent of the state’s population.

Gomez, who is running in the GOP primary for Texas’ 31st congressional District, caused outrage after posting the video of herself burning a copy of the Muslim holy book on X on Monday.

She is heard saying in the video: “America is a Christian nation, so those terrorist Muslims can *** to any of the 57 Muslim nations.

“There is only one true God, and that is the God of Israel.”

This is not Gomez’s first display of Islamophobic views.
