PHOTOS: Security operatives arrest notorious thugs disguised as women to carry out targeted attacks in Kano

Security operatives in Kurna area of Kano metropolis have arrested a group of suspected thugs who disguised as women to carry out targeted attacks.

It was gathered that the thugs raided the area with the intent to assassinate their targets before they were intercepted and apprehended by the local security outfit on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the arrested hoodlums belong to a network of hired hitmen who often use such disguises to infiltrate their targets undetected.

The suspects are currently with the relevant security agencies for further investigation and prosecution.

Residents of Kurna commended the security forces for its swift response and urged security agencies to intensify surveillance to curb similar incidents in the state.

A 30-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested for alleged r3pe and attempted m8rder of a s3x worker in Bucharest, Romania.

The accused was placed in preventive custody for 30 days on Friday, September 12, 2025.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly choked and r@ped a prostitute after she told him to leave when she realized he did not have money to pay in advance for the services provided.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sector 6 Court in Bucharest now accuses him of r@pe, destruction, and home invasion.

When the woman realized that the man did not have money to pay in advance for the services provided, she asked him to leave the residence.However, the man refused to leave and allegedly grabbed the woman by the throat and hands, then pushed her onto the bed and allegedly r3ped her.

The prosecutor said at the same time, the man destroyed the woman’s mobile phone by throwing it on the floor, causing the case and display to break.

The investigation is being pursued by the Criminal Investigation police, under the prosecutor’s coordination.

PHOTOS: Man arrested with firearm and fake police ID in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man for illegal possession of firearms and impersonation.

The suspect identified as Mubarak Bello, was intercepted by operatives during a routine patrol on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Abubabakr Sadiq Aliyu, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday said one locally fabricated rifle, a fake police ID card, and other items were recovered from the suspect.

“On September 13th, 2025, at about 0230 hrs, while on routine patrol, officers attached to the command’s department of operations successfully arrested one Mubarak Bello, m, age 38, of Kofar Yamma quarters, Kurfi LGA, Katsina State, in connection with illegal possession of firearm and impersonation,” the statement read.

“The team, acting on heightened vigilance and proactive policing strategies, intercepted a Toyota Corolla, ash color, with registration No. Lagos GGE 473 BH, driven by the suspect.

“Upon questioning, the suspect could not provide a satisfactory account of himself or the vehicle, prompting an immediate search.

“During the search of the vehicle, the following were recovered as exhibits from the suspect: one locally fabricated rifle, four live cartridges, two expended shells of cartridges, a fake police ID card, and an extra plate number (Kano FGE 68).

“The suspect is in custody as investigations are being intensified to ascertain circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearm, fake ID, and other exhibits.”

Police rescue five abducted children in Adamawa

Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State.

The children were rescued in Mubi Local Government Area of the state on September 13, 2025.

The spokesman for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

““The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued another five children suspected to have been abducted and unlawfully brought from Maiduguri, Borno State, to Adamawa,” the statement read.

“On 13th September, 2025, the Area Commander Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, acted on timely and credible information, led his surveillance team and intercepted five male children found wandering the streets of Mubi town,” the statement partly read.

The rescued children are identified as Adamu Musa (16 years), Suleiman Idris (10 years), Suleiman Mohammed (11 years), Dauda Yahaya (11 years), and Mohammed Alhassan (11 years), all residents of Gwange, Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to the PPRO, investigation revealed the victims were unlawfully taken from Maiduguri by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, Maiduguri, who is currently at large.

“Effort is ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice,” the statement added.

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, who commended the Area Commander and his team for the successful rescue, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the suspect and the possible reuniting of the victims with their parents.

The CP reassured members of the public of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
