According to reports, the victim, identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, had checked into a hotel in Gwarinpa with an unidentified man. Police said the man was later seen leaving the premises without her, while hotel staff subsequently discovered her unconscious during a routine check.

The FCT Police Command ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
