Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, has opened up about her personal life.

It was reports that the thespian said she has received many marriage proposals but declined them because she has not met the right partner.

In an interview with Biola Bayo, the 52-year-old actress explained that she does not consider being unmarried a problem.

She added that she values finding someone she truly wants to spend her life with over bowing to pressure.

She said that many women are often pushed into marriage for the wrong reasons, which has contributed to the rising number of broken homes and divorces in Nigeria.

Akintola also stressed the need for parents to give sons and daughters equal training, pointing out that boys should be taught accountability just as much as girls.

She added that a man who gets a woman pregnant should be responsible enough to raise the child instead of continuing with school or other pursuits as if nothing happened.

Speaking further, she touched on online bullying and urged women to focus on hardworking men who are ready to grow with them, rather than placing all their attention on wealth.

She said: “For me not to have found my partner, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, I don’t see it as a negative. I’ve been proposed to many times, and I’ve said no.

“Did you just marry because people say marry? Look at divorce ratings now in Nigeria, it’s skyrocketing. Some people are married before they leave the reception if the marriage has broken up.

“Teach your sons that their body is the temple of God the same way you teach your daughters. As soon as you impregnate a girl, no more school for you, my dear. Go and work and raise your child.

“Don’t focus on rich men. Focus on men who are hardworking and ready to grow with you.”

They need your time.

💰 Money can be earned again.

❤️ But once a child’s trust is broken, rebuilding it may not be easy.

🕰️ And once childhood is gone, you can never buy it back.

Don’t become so busy providing for your children that you forget to actually be present in their lives.

Because one day, your child may remember the money you provided—but they may remember even more clearly the moments you were never there.

Be humble. Be respectful. Treat people with dignity.

You are not better than anyone simply because you have more than they do.

Respect the labourer.
Respect everyone.

Because the person you look down on today may have life lessons you will never learn in a classroom.
