‘Very Soon Bandits Will Be In Nigerian Senate, House Of Reps’ – Baba Yusuf

Published

on

Political strategist cum Group Chief Executive Officer of Global Investment and Trade Company, Baba Yusuf, has raised concerns over the state of insecurity in the country, stating that bandits will soon enter the Nigerian Senate and the House of Representatives.

It was reports that Yusuf made this known during an interview on Arise News, stating that Nigerians were now paying bandits taxes and going to them for mediation in the North.

He also mentioned that while Nigerians are dying in their numbers in attacks from bandits, politicians are playing politics with insecurities in the country, while the terrorists are daring the state and taunting Nigeria.

Yusuf recalled President Bola Tinubu’s statement during his visit to Plateau State, ‘it will never happen again,’ but the terrorists attacked a community in the state the next day.

According to him, terrorists are killing soldiers, wearing military uniforms, and going for mediation with the government, then going home without consequences, and even sending notices to the government.

He said, “We are there already. And why did I say so? First of all, I mentioned that performance is not measured by events, but by impacts and outcomes.

“If we look at the progression of insecurity in Nigeria in the past three and a half years, places that we never thought they would go to, they are in Niger, they are in Kwara, progressing downwards into Nigeria.

“You see what they are doing. They come at will in Benue, in Plateau. Mr. President promised the widows, I mean the victims, in Plateau two weeks ago, ‘it will never happen again,’ these people had the audacity to make it happen again the next day.

“They are daring the state. They are taunting us. When they kill our soldiers, they wear the uniform of our military and armed forces and go to what is called a mediation arrangement with the government.

“This bandit wore the uniform of the Assistant Commissioner and came with his gun and went home without consequences. They are on social media. We know their handles. They don’t even care to cover their faces.

“They send notices, and they come on the day of the notice, and they execute. Now they are overrunning brigades, not brigades in urban areas, brigades in the theater of war, and they overrun the brigade. They kill our generals, like every other day, our colonels.

“The ruling party makes it look as if it’s no issue, and then the opposition uses it to posture while people are dying every day. This is an existential issue that we should take seriously across party lines. And we should deal with this otherwise, like I said earlier, it will still come down, you see, I said it in another sister station very soon, bandits will be in the Senate and the House of Reps, because Nigerians are paying them tax in the north.

“People are beginning to have confidence in them. They go to them for mediation. They go to them for protection. And we are saying we are making progress, and we are saying we should not talk about it.”

Former vice president and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar met with stakeholders of the Adamawa State chapter in Abuja.

He made this known via his X handle on Saturday.

He said, “Yesterday evening, I received stakeholders of the Adamawa State chapter of the ADC at my Abuja residence, a visit that deeply touched me.

“I thanked them for the gesture and reminded the new state leadership that unity is now their sacred duty: to heal divisions, carry everyone along, and lead with fairness.

“I remain convinced that the ADC has risen as Nigeria’s true opposition force. One that is strong in ideals, structure, and resolve, and ready to challenge and defeat the failing APC in the elections ahead.”

Abiodun, Osoba present Yayi to Tinubu as Ogun APC’s guber candidate

Published

on

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections in Ogun State was yesterday presented to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and former governor Olusegun Osoba presented Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

In the same vein, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, yesterday took his preferred successor and Senator representing Nasarawa West, Ahmed Wadada, to the President.

Abiodun disclosed the visit to the Presidential Villa yesterday through a post on his official X account, where he said he and Osoba had the privilege of informally presenting the senator to the President.

The governor said Tinubu expressed delight at the peaceful emergence of the candidate and commended the Ogun APC family for what he described as a rancour-free and inclusive consensus process.

“Our Leader, Baba Segun Osoba, and I yesterday had the privilege of informally presenting our consensus governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, to our National Leader and father of the nation, President Bola Tinubu,” he said.

Nasarawa Gov presents Wadada to Tinubu as preferred successor

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule yesterday took his preferred successor and Senator representing Nasarawa West, Ahmed Wadada, to President Bola Tinubu.

Sule had on Thursday declared Wadada as his preferred candidate for the governorship election in 2027 during a meeting with political appointees and heads of government agencies at the Government House, Lafia.

The duo was received by the President at the Presidential Villa yesterday.

The closed-door meeting reportedly lasted more than an hour.

The governor had described the senator as the embodiment of the ‘Muje Maha’ spirit that has guided his administration’s approach to governance and political inclusivity.

Sule said the consultations included discussions with foreign and prospective investors, youth groups, women organisations, traditional rulers, party officials and various stakeholders from across the state’s three senatorial zones, as well as selected members of his cabinet.

However, a former Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Adamu, said the endorsement did not represent an election as he vowed to contest the governorship against the governor’s candidate.

Adamu and others are eyeing the governorship on the platform of the APC, with the governor insisting that, to allow justice and equity, the governorship slot should be zoned to Nasarawa West.

By presenting Wadada to the president, it is believed that the governor is signaling his intention to consolidate support at the highest level of government. (The Nation)
