A WIFE WHO WAS NOT PROPERLY PREPARED FOR MARRIAGE: WHEN PARENTING FAILS TO TEACH LIFE’S MOST IMPORTANT LESSONS

Published

on

Can someone be ready for a wedding but completely unprepared for marriage? This is a question every family needs to confront.

Marriage is one of life’s biggest responsibilities, yet many people spend months preparing for their wedding ceremony while giving little thought to the character, emotional maturity, and life skills needed to build a successful home.

A beautiful wedding dress cannot guarantee a peaceful marriage. Expensive decorations cannot buy understanding. And saying “I do” does not automatically make someone a responsible husband or wife.

The uncomfortable truth is that some people enter marriage without learning how to manage anger, resolve disagreements, respect boundaries, communicate honestly, or take responsibility for their actions.

When these lessons are missing, ordinary marital disagreements can become serious battles. A small misunderstanding turns into days of silence. A simple correction becomes an argument. Pride replaces humility, and the desire to win an argument becomes more important than protecting the relationship.

But where does the responsibility lie?

THE ROLE OF PARENTS IN PREPARING THEIR CHILDREN

Parents have an important responsibility to prepare their children for adulthood. Raising a child involves more than providing food, clothing, education, and shelter.

Children also need to learn discipline, empathy, patience, honesty, respect, accountability, and the importance of healthy relationships.

A daughter should understand that marriage requires cooperation, not constant competition. She should learn that respect is mutual, communication matters, and love does not give anyone permission to control or humiliate a partner.

The same lessons must be taught to sons.

A man who cannot control his anger, respect his wife’s opinions, accept correction, or take responsibility for his mistakes is equally unprepared for a healthy marriage.

**Marriage is not a rehabilitation centre where one partner must spend the rest of their life correcting everything the other person refuses to learn.**

WHEN POOR CHARACTER BECOMES A MARRIAGE PROBLEM

Imagine a husband and wife who cannot resolve disagreements peacefully because neither wants to admit a mistake.

Instead of discussing their problems, they involve relatives, exchange insults, keep records of past offences, and use silence as punishment.

Over time, affection can disappear beneath resentment.

Children may grow up watching their parents fight, believing that disrespect, hostility, and emotional manipulation are normal parts of married life.

This is why emotional maturity matters. The habits people bring into marriage can influence not only their partners but also the atmosphere in which their children grow up.

However, not every marital problem comes from poor upbringing. Financial pressure, incompatible expectations, unresolved trauma, abuse, and other circumstances can also affect a relationship. Adults remain responsible for their choices, and people can learn and change.

THE QUESTION PARENTS MUST ANSWER

Why do some parents spend years preparing their children for academic success but pay so little attention to preparing them for emotional responsibility?

Why do some families celebrate a wedding without discussing communication, financial responsibility, conflict resolution, and mutual respect?

And why do some adults blame their parents for their behaviour while refusing to make an effort to improve themselves?

The answer is not to blame every wife or every husband. It is to recognise that **good parenting should prepare children for life, while personal responsibility should motivate adults to keep growing.

No parent can teach a child everything. No husband or wife is perfect. What matters is the willingness to learn, apologise, change harmful behaviour, and build a healthier relationship together.

NEWSBREAK365 ASKS: LET’S DEBATE!

Should parents be held responsible when their adult children struggle with marriage because they were never taught essential life skills, or should every adult take full responsibility for learning how to become a good husband or wife?

Can a marriage survive when one partner refuses to learn, accept correction, or change destructive behaviour?

SOME MEN GET MARRIED AS ADULTS BUT STILL BEHAVE LIKE CHILDREN — WHO FAILED TO PREPARE THEM FOR MARRIAGE?

Published

on

A wedding ring does not automatically turn an immature man into a responsible husband.**

Marriage is one of the biggest responsibilities a person can take on, yet some men enter it without understanding what it truly means to be a husband.

They want respect but struggle to show respect. They want peace at home but refuse to communicate. They expect their wives to understand their feelings but make little effort to understand their wives. They want to be treated like kings but have not learned how to treat their partners like queens.

And when problems arise, they blame their wives, their in-laws, or even the marriage itself.

But here is a question we must ask: **Did their parents prepare them for the responsibilities of marriage, or did they simply raise them to become adults?

Parenting is not just about feeding a child, paying school fees, buying clothes, and making sure the child grows up. It is also about teaching character, emotional maturity, respect, accountability, patience, and the importance of treating other people with dignity.

A boy who is never taught to accept correction may grow into a man who sees every disagreement with his wife as an insult.

A boy who is never taught to control his anger may become a husband who turns every small misunderstanding into a major conflict.

A boy who is always excused when he does something wrong may become a man who struggles to apologise, even when he knows he is wrong.

And a boy who grows up believing that household responsibilities belong exclusively to women may enter marriage expecting his wife to serve him rather than work alongside him as a partner.

The painful truth is that some wives end up paying the price for lessons their husbands never learned while growing up.

However, parents cannot take all the blame. Every adult has a responsibility to examine their own behaviour, learn from their mistakes, and become a better partner. A difficult upbringing may explain certain habits, but it does not excuse disrespect or mistreatment.

A responsible husband is not necessarily a man who has all the money. He is a man who understands partnership, takes responsibility for his actions, listens when his wife speaks, respects her dignity, and is willing to grow.

Likewise, a successful marriage is not built by blaming one gender. Both partners must learn to communicate, compromise, and treat each other with respect.

**Parents, remember this: raising a son is not just about preparing him to become a man. It is also about helping him develop the character to become a responsible partner, if he chooses to marry.**

And to every man who is already married, it is never too late to learn what you were not taught.

### 💥 NEWSBREAK365 ASKS:

**Who bears the greater responsibility when a man enters marriage without the emotional maturity to be a good husband — his parents, who raised him, or the man himself, who is now an adult?**

Can a woman successfully build a happy marriage with a man who has never learned how to communicate, accept correction, or take responsibility?

Let’s hear your honest opinion in the comments. Share this post with someone who needs to reflect on the true meaning of marriage.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED SO DEEPLY THAT THEY HATE THEMSELVES WHILE CALLING IT CIVILISATION!

Published

on

Imagine being so ashamed of who you are that you reject your own identity, despise your own heritage, and worship everything that comes from somewhere else. Is that progress, or have you been programmed to hate yourself?**

This is the dangerous reality of **SELF-HATRED AND SELF-DECEPTION.**

💥 You look at your own skin and wish you had been born with a different one.

💥 You mock your own language but feel proud when you speak a foreign language.

💥 You dismiss your ancestors’ traditions as backward without investigating their history, yet blindly embrace foreign customs as signs of sophistication.

💥 You assume that everything made abroad must be superior, even before comparing its quality with what your own people produce.

💥 You celebrate foreign heroes while knowing almost nothing about the great thinkers, inventors, leaders, and freedom fighters from your own history.

💥 You have been taught to associate your own identity with shame and someone else’s identity with greatness—and you call that being enlightened!

**BUT WHO BENEFITS WHEN YOU LOSE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF?**

Let us be clear: learning from other societies is not the problem. Technology, education, science, and good ideas should be welcomed from every corner of the world.

The real problem begins when admiration becomes blind worship, when learning becomes imitation, and when appreciation for another culture turns into contempt for your own.

You do not have to hate your roots to grow. You do not have to insult your ancestors to embrace modernity. And you do not have to pretend that your people are perfect to recognise their contributions to humanity.

**THE HARDEST FORM OF DECEPTION IS THE ONE THAT MAKES YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE THINKING FOR YOURSELF WHEN YOU HAVE NEVER QUESTIONED THE BELIEFS THAT WERE HANDED TO YOU.**

Think critically. Examine your history. Question every culture, including your own. Celebrate what is valuable, challenge what is harmful, and judge people and ideas by their merits—not by where they come from.

**HERE IS THE CONTROVERSIAL QUESTION:**

Have some people become so conditioned to admire foreign things that they automatically look down on their own people, even when they have no evidence that the foreign option is better?

Or is this simply a matter of personal preference and individual experience?

**SPEAK YOUR MIND IN THE COMMENTS!** Do not just agree or disagree—explain your position.

Ogogo’s daughters announce plans to enter Nollywood

Published

on

Daughters of the late Nollywood icon Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have announced their decision to pursue acting and filmmaking more actively, pledging to carry on their father’s legacy in the Nigerian film industry.

The sisters, Taiwo Halima Olamide (also known as Lima Ogogo) and Shakirat Taiwo (Kira Ogogo), made the declaration in an appreciation video shared on Instagram and sighted by PUNCH Online on Friday.

The video, credited primarily to Kira Ogogo’s account and also linked to her YouTube channel KiraOgogoTV, has since been widely reported by Nigerian media outlets.

In the direct-to-camera message, the sisters expressed deep gratitude to fans, public figures, and well-wishers who supported the family after Ogogo’s death in August 2026.

“You guys loved our daddy so much. This is an appreciation video to tell you people thank you,” they said.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Lima added: “On behalf of my family and I, we want to say thank you very much to everybody who stood by us.”

They specifically acknowledged support from prominent figures, including Honourable Tayo Ayinde, the First Lady of Nigeria, the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), and the Olu of Ilaro, as well as the many messages of sympathy that poured in during their period of mourning.

The sisters then turned to their future plans. They made clear that their involvement in the industry would not be limited to tributes but represented a long-term commitment.

“We are going to start seeing Ogogo through my sister Kira Ogogo. We are coming to the industry, and we’re here to stay,” Lima stated.

They urged fans who loved watching their father’s movies to extend the same support to their own projects, encouraging people to watch, share, and promote their forthcoming films and content, particularly on Kira Ogogo’s YouTube channel, KiraOgogoTV.

Ogogo, a respected figure in Yoruba cinema known for his calm and authoritative screen presence, died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after a battle with stage-four cancer. He was buried the following day in Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.

His death prompted widespread tributes across Nollywood and beyond.
The daughters’ announcement has been welcomed by many who followed their father’s career, viewing it as a way to keep his influence and contributions alive for a new generation of audiences.
