PHOTOS: Thugs attack former AGF Abubakar Malami’s convoy in Kebbi

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, escaped injury yesterday, September 1, after his convoy was attacked by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi.

Malami was returning after paying a condolence visit to a family in the state capital when the assailants attacked his convoy, destroying 10 vehicles in the convoy and leaving several of his supporters injured during the attack.

Malami who is a leader in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi, described the attack as “politically motivated”.

He said;

““I was in Birnin Kebbi solely to pay condolences to families who lost their loved ones. I was away, not for political campaign. It’s painful and unfortunate. Some thugs emerged from the APC state headquarters, armed with weapons and stones, and attacked our convoy, destroying vehicles and injuring our supporters.”

Malami further claimed said there would be “no retreat, no surrender” in politics in Kebbi.

Meanwhile, the APC party in the state has denied any involvement in the attack.

Police arrest girlfriend of suspected armed robber, recover arms, N2m

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a girlfriend of an armed robbery suspect and recovered one locally made pistol, six rounds of live ammunition, and the sum of N2.04 million.

The spokesman of the command and a Superintendent of Police, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, made the disclosure to newsmen in a statement on Thursday.

The suspect’s girlfriend, aged 23, was reportedly arrested in a hotel in Okene Local Government Area by operatives of the Okene Police Division.

Ovye-Aya said: “This is consequent upon intelligence tip off that a suspected criminal was sighted in Yuwander lodge, alleged to be a suspected criminal hideout at Oguda village, Okene.

“Immediately, the police swung into action and raided the lodge.

“Upon the search of one of the rooms, which was booked by one Christopher Christopher-Kadiri, a lady named Charity Williams, aged 23 years, was arrested.”

Ovye-Aya said during the raid, the police recovered one locally made Beretta pistol, a sum of N2,047,300, six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, hard drugs, axe, and four phones.

According to him, efforts are on to apprehend the suspect, Christopher-Kadiri, now at large, as investigation is ongoing.

He further disclosed that in another development, the operatives attached to Ofu Division recovered one locally made gun at Ogbakpedo village on the Itobe-Ayingba Road.

Ovye-Aya said that the recovery followed a tip off that some persons suspected to be kidnappers were sighted in the bush.

He added: “On getting the tip, the patrol team immediately moved to the scene.

“The suspects, on sighting the police, ran away.

“A search of the area led to the recovery of one locally made barrel gun, cutlass, Techno phone among others.”

Ovye-Aya quoted the command’s Commissioner, CP Miller Dantawaye, as commending the officers for their dedication to duty.

The CP reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the fight against criminality in the state.

Bandits kidnap serving councillor in Southern Kaduna

Bandits have abducted a serving councillor in Southern Kaduna, Hon. David Ali Gwantu.
Gwantu, who represents Gwantu Ward in Sanga Local Government Area, was taken from his residence in Gwantu town in the early hours of Friday, September 5, 2025.
Reports indicate the attackers stormed his home shortly after midnight and whisked him away in the presence of his family.
This abduction comes amid renewed violence in Southern Kaduna.
Just last week, seven victims, mostly minors, were killed in a d3adly terrorist attack in Unguwan Rimi village, Kauru LGA.

Old tweets shared by man emerges after he killed his ex-girlfriend one year after they broke up

Old tweets shared by Lintex Ogale, the man who murdered his ex-girlfriend in Lagos, are receiving attention after news of his actions spread.

Lintex Ogale, from Benue State, is accused of killing Deborah Moses, an interior decorator, at her home in Lagos after refusing to move on one year after their break up.

He reportedly disguised as a dispatch rider to gain access into Deborah’s estate. He is also alleged to have cut her gas pipe, hoping that she would experience a gas explosion, according to allegations.

When that failed, he is alleged to have gone into Deborah’s house where he stabbed her to death.

According to Deborah’s sister, Ogale refused to more on more than a year after Deborah ended the relationship due to violence on his part.

Before he stabbed her, Ogale allegedly said “if I can’t have you, no man would”.

Another tweet shows him reacting to the interview gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi granted in January 2025 after he was caught with the severed head of a female corps member, Salome Adaidu.

At the time, Timileyin, who has now been sentenced to de@th, claimed that Salome was his girlfriend and she cheated on him which is why he k!lled her.

Reacting, Ogale wrote at the time: “The guy na just mumu. If everybody start kpai women base on cheating,I’m not sure 10% of them will be left.”
