KWAM1 loses bid to block Awujale selection process

Published

on

The Ogun State High Court sitting in Ijebu-Ode on Monday refused to grant popular Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, alias KWAM1, an interim injunction aimed at restraining Governor Dapo Abiodun and five others from proceeding with the selection and installation of the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

Ayinde, represented in court by Wahab Shittu (SAN), had sought the injunction pending the hearing of his substantive suit challenging the selection process.

But  Justice A. A. Omoniyi dismissed the application, holding that the interim injunction lacked merit and that there were no strong grounds to justify its grant.

He subsequently ordered the expedited hearing of the substantive matter, fixing 14 January 2026 for proceedings.

KWAM1 had declared his interest in the vacant Awujale stool, claiming lineage from the Jadiara Royal House of the wider Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

However, the Fusengbuwa ruling house rejected his claim, stating that he is not from the royal house.

To challenge what he perceived as injustice, Ayinde filed a suit against the Fusengbuwa ruling house, Governor Abiodun, the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Dare Alebiosu, and three others.

The other respondents include the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiyu Hamzat; Secretary of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Oke Adebanjo; and the Chairman of the Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council, Dr Olorogun Sunny Kuku.

The suit, HC3/238/2025, was filed ex parte, citing Order 38 Rules 4 and Order 39 Rule 1 of the High Court of Ogun State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2024, Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution, and the court’s inherent jurisdiction

A copy of the court document dated 16 December 2025 was obtained by our correspondent.

Ayinde urged the court to restrain all respondents from further action on the Awujale selection process to protect his interest and preserve the res from being dissipated or interfered with.

He prayed the court to restrain the respondents, “their agents, or anyone acting on their behalf, from taking any steps in the installation process of the next Awujale of Ijebuland pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”

The musician said he is an aspirant to the Awujale stool, “and the injunction is necessary to secure his interest and preserve the res from being dissipated or interfered with by the respondents.”

With the interim injunction denied, attention now turns to the substantive hearing scheduled for 14 January 2026, which will determine the fate of KWAM1’s claim to the Awujale stool.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU DESTROY SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PAIN THAT ONCE DESTROYED YOU

Published

on

**BREAK THE CYCLE. DON’T PASS THE PAIN.**

You were hurt. So what gives you the right to hurt someone else?

You were abused. Does that give you permission to become an abuser?

You grew up in a home filled with fear, so why are you making your own children afraid of you?

You were humiliated, neglected, rejected, and broken by the very people who were supposed to protect you. Now, are you going to turn around and inflict those same wounds on innocent people who never caused your pain?

**STOP! THE CYCLE MUST END SOMEWHERE. WHY NOT WITH YOU?**

Too many people have mistaken trauma for tradition. They call emotional damage *discipline*, cruelty *tough love*, intimidation *respect*, and suffering *the way we were raised.*

But just because your parents did it doesn’t make it right. Just because you survived it doesn’t mean someone else should have to endure it.

**YOUR PAIN IS REAL. BUT IT MUST NOT BECOME SOMEBODY ELSE’S PRISON.**

Your childhood trauma may explain your behaviour, but it does not give you a lifetime licence to destroy other people’s peace.

Your wounds deserve healing, not an audience of new victims.

Your anger deserves understanding, not innocent people to punish.

And your story deserves a different ending.

You may not have chosen what happened to you, but you can choose whether the people who come after you will suffer the same fate.

Raise children who feel safe, not children who tremble when they hear your footsteps.

Build relationships where love is felt, not feared.

Learn to apologise. Learn to listen. Seek help. Do the uncomfortable work of healing, even when it means confronting the things your family has spent generations refusing to discuss.

Because **GENERATIONAL PAIN DOESN’T END JUST BECAUSE A GENERATION DIES. IT ENDS WHEN SOMEONE FINALLY DECIDES NOT TO REPEAT IT.**

Let that someone be YOU.

Let your children inherit your wisdom, not your wounds. Let your family remember you as the person who changed the story, not the person who continued the suffering.

**BREAK THE CYCLE. DON’T PASS THE PAIN.**

**BE THE REASON THE HURT ENDS. BE THE REASON HEALING BEGINS.**

📢 Share this message if you believe the next generation deserves better.

BUT PAIN IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO DESTROY YOUR CHILDREN EMOTIONALLY

Published

on

Some parents are silently bleeding from wounds they never healed. They were raised in homes where love was replaced with fear, where mistakes were punished with humiliation, where tears were called weakness, and where children were expected to suffer in silence.

Now, as adults, some of them unknowingly pass those same wounds to their own children.

They shout when they should listen. They insult when they should encourage. They compare their children to others, make them feel worthless, dismiss their feelings, and call it *discipline.*

But let us ask a painful question: **WHY SHOULD AN INNOCENT CHILD PAY THE PRICE FOR THE SUFFERING OF AN ADULT?**

Your child did not cause your childhood trauma.
Your child did not betray you in a past relationship.
Your child did not create your financial struggles.
Your child is not responsible for the disappointments life brought your way.

So why should they become the target of your anger, frustration, bitterness, and unresolved pain?

**A CHILD MAY FORGET THE EXACT WORDS YOU SPOKE, BUT THEY MAY CARRY THE FEELING OF BEING UNLOVED FOR YEARS.**

A child who constantly hears, *“You are useless,”* may grow up doubting their own worth.

A child who is always humiliated may grow up afraid to speak.

A child who receives affection only when they perform well may grow up believing that love must be earned.

And a child who is repeatedly told to stop crying may become an adult who struggles to express pain because nobody ever taught them that their feelings matter.

Then, years later, society wonders why so many adults struggle with confidence, emotional connection, trust, and self-worth.

Of course, not every adult’s struggle comes from childhood, and not every strict parent causes emotional harm. But **repeated humiliation, rejection, intimidation, and emotional cruelty should never be disguised as good parenting.**

Listen carefully: being a parent does not give you permission to destroy a child’s confidence. Providing food, clothing, shelter, and school fees is important, but children also need patience, affection, emotional safety, and respect.

You can correct a child without crushing their spirit.
You can enforce discipline without destroying their dignity.
You can be firm without making your child afraid of you.

And if your own childhood was painful, you deserve compassion too. You are not guilty of the wounds others inflicted on you. But when you become a parent, you have an opportunity to stop those wounds from becoming your children’s inheritance.

**HEAL YOUR PAIN. CONTROL YOUR ANGER. BREAK THE CYCLE.**

Your children should inherit your wisdom, not your bitterness; your strength, not your unresolved anger; and your love, not the emotional scars you never took the time to heal.

One day, your children will grow up and build lives of their own.

The question is: **WILL THEY REMEMBER YOUR HOME AS A PLACE WHERE THEY FELT SAFE, OR AS A PLACE THEY SPENT THEIR CHILDHOOD TRYING TO SURVIVE?**

**YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT YOUR EMOTIONAL PUNCHING BAGS. THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS WITH FEELINGS, DREAMS, AND HEARTS THAT CAN BREAK TOO.**

**BREAK THE CYCLE. DON’T PASS THE PAIN.**

**LET’S DISCUSS: DO YOU BELIEVE SOME PARENTS ARE REPEATING THE SAME EMOTIONAL DAMAGE THEY EXPERIENCED AS CHILDREN, WITHOUT REALISING WHAT THEY ARE DOING?**

ToluwaniSings’ uncle demands probe into singer’s death

Published

on

A man who identified himself as the uncle of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as ToluwaniSings, has called for an impartial investigation into the singer’s death, warning against interference or attempts to cover up details surrounding the incident.

The man, Lawal Ademola, made the appeal in an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom, which was posted on Facebook on Monday.

He urged the government, community leaders and law enforcement authorities to ensure that the investigation was conducted fairly and that nobody was victimised or shielded from scrutiny.

“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimisation.

“Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” he said.

In a separate video, the man recounted his visit to ToluwaniSings’ house, where he said some family members were watching television when he arrived.

He also recounted a disagreement over ToluwaniSings’ burial arrangements, saying he wanted the singer to be buried at the house where he lived with his wife and children.

According to him, the wife opposed the idea, saying she could not bear to see her husband’s corpse at the house every day, particularly with the children around.

The man said the disagreement continued as other relatives proposed taking the body to Ikirun for burial, but the wife also objected to the option, describing the location as too far.

The man referred to ToluwaniSings as Sodiq, the name he was given at birth in his Muslim family.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported on the circumstances surrounding ToluwaniSings’ death, including his family’s confirmation of his death on October 14, 2026, and allegations that he was taken to eight hospitals before he died.
