PHOTOS: Enugu Community Banished Father, Daughter After Alleged Incestuous Pregnancy Scandal

Published

on

A community in Enugu State has reportedly banished a father and his daughter after the man allegedly had a sɛxual relationship with her, resulting in her pregnancy.

The incident occurred in Nenwe Community, where a video circulating on social media showed the father and daughter being paraded with palm fronds before they were banished from the community.

The video has sparked reactions online, with some social media users expressing concern for the girl and suggesting that she may be a victim of sɛxual abuse rather than someone who should be punished alongside her father.

The incident has also generated discussions about the community’s decision to banish both individuals, particularly given the alleged abuse of the daughter by her father.

According to the statement, 67 suspects, comprising 55 males and 12 females, were arrested at a hotel along Abraka Road, Asaba, where suspected members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity (SVC), also known as Aro Bagger, allegedly gathered for a cult anniversary celebration.

In a separate operation, 15 suspects, including 14 men and one woman, were arrested in Agbor, Ika South LGA, with items allegedly linked to the same confraternity.

Other suspects reportedly fled, while operatives recovered two locally made pistols, two live cartridges, two expended cartridges, two caps bearing suspected cult insignia and suspected charms.

Another 10 male suspects were arrested over suspected cult activities in Jeddo community, Okpe LGA.

In total, five firearms, 12 live cartridges and seven expended cartridges were recovered. Edafe added that the suspects and recovered items remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Canada Moves to Deport Nigerian Migrant Rights Activist Olukunle Adetunji Over Illegal Re-entry

Published

on

Nigerian migrant rights activist Olukunle Adetunji is facing deportation from Canada over his immigration status after years of trying to legalise his stay in the country.

According to Canadian media outlet CityNews, Adetunji first arrived in Canada in 2012 but was deported to Nigeria in 2014. He reportedly remained in Nigeria for two years before returning to Canada illegally in 2016.

Adetunji married his wife, Kimora, in 2014, and the couple have three sons. They later explored applying for permission for him to remain in Canada on compassionate grounds.

However, he was arrested and detained at Maplehurst Correctional Complex before being transferred through immigration detention facilities, including the Toronto Immigration Holding Centre. He was later released while attempting to regularise his status, but now faces deportation.

Speaking about the possibility of being separated from his children, Adetunji said, “I’ve been taken away from my three boys. I made them promise that I’d never leave them. And, for me to break that promise is…I don’t know, I can’t break that promise.”

He also expressed concern about returning to Nigeria, saying he had no family ties or place to stay there.

“I have no ties with Nigeria. I don’t have a place to stay. It’s like a death sentence,” he said.

PHOTOS: Two Women Arrested Over Alleged Attempt to Steal Newborn After Fake Pregnancy Plot

Published

on

Tension reportedly erupted at a hospital after two women were allegedly caught attempting to steal a newborn baby.

According to reports, one of the women allegedly faked her pregnancy by stuffing cloth under her clothes to create the appearance of a baby bump. The other woman reportedly posed as her elder sister, claiming she had accompanied her to the hospital to assist with the delivery.

However, the alleged plan was reportedly uncovered before they could leave with the newborn. While the woman who faked the pregnancy was apprehended, her suspected accomplice reportedly escaped from the hospital.

The arrested woman was subsequently whisked away by the police after being confronted by people at the facility.

The incident came to light after a video showing the woman being confronted at the hospital surfaced on social media. The name and location of the hospital have not been disclosed.

Some of those present are heard speaking Yoruba and repeatedly urging her to admit to the alleged offence.

Reports accompanying the video claim that the woman had concealed clothes beneath her outfit to make it appear as though she was pregnant before visiting the hospital with her alleged accomplice.

Following the confrontation, the police were reportedly contacted and took the suspect away.
