Bandits Arrested in Kwara: Suspects Claim AK-47 Rifles Came From Government Officials | Confession

Published

on

Nigerian Army troops have arrested suspected bandits in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, after intercepting them while patrolling with AK-47 rifles and a security patrol vehicle.

What has sparked nationwide outrage is the suspects’ claim that the vehicle and rifles were allegedly supplied by Kwara State government officials.

In the viral video, the arrested men—seen restrained on the ground—allege they had been operating under the guise of official patrol duties.

One suspect, speaking in Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin, insisted the weapons were handed over by their superior and not privately owned.

He repeatedly swore by God that multiple individuals were involved. As investigations continue, neither the Kwara State Government nor the Nigerian Army has issued an official statement confirming or denying these serious allegations.

This development comes amid rising insecurity in Kwara, following reports of the kidnapping of four travelers in Yagba East, including three siblings returning from their mother’s burial.

The kidnappers are reportedly demanding ₦10 million per victim, deepening public anger and fear across the region.

Watch the full video to hear the suspects’ shocking claims, see the arrest footage, and understand what this means for security in Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
