A godly wife is not meant to be a burden to her husband, but a helpmate, companion, encourager, and partner in building a strong home. Marriage is a partnership in which both husband and wife should support one another, show love, exercise wisdom, and work together toward a better future.
The Bible says:
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
— Genesis 2:18 (KJV)
A wife should be a source of strength and encouragement, not someone who constantly tears her husband down. Likewise, a husband should love, honour, protect, and cherish his wife. God designed marriage for companionship, cooperation, and mutual care.
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:9 (KJV)
A wise wife can contribute greatly to the peace, progress, and stability of her household. Her wisdom, prayers, encouragement, hard work, and good counsel can help her husband overcome difficult seasons and pursue his responsibilities with greater strength.
The Bible says:
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
— Proverbs 14:1 (KJV)
A good marriage is not about one person carrying the other. It is about two people carrying the responsibilities of life together. A wife should not be treated as a liability, and a husband should not be treated as merely a provider without emotional or spiritual support.
The husband also has a biblical responsibility:
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”
— Ephesians 5:25 (KJV)
When a husband loves his wife and a wife supports her husband, they create a home where both can grow, prosper, and fulfil their God-given responsibilities.
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life.”
— 1 Peter 3:7 (KJV)
A wife is a helpmate, not a liability. A husband is a partner, not a master without responsibility. Marriage works best when both husband and wife walk together in love, wisdom, respect, faith, and unity.
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
— Amos 3:3 (KJV)
Build together. Pray together. Support one another. Grow together. Let your marriage be a testimony of God’s wisdom and love.
